WebThe objective of the Solar Plan is to create 20 giga- watts (GW) of renewable generating capacity in the Mediterranean region by 2024. The Desertec Initiative aims to provide 15 percent of European electricity consumption as well as a significant proportion of domestic demand in North Africa by 2050.
